TakeOffTrak

I redesigned and rebuilt the frontend for an AI-powered construction SaaS in two weeks, replacing an inconsistent template with a polished product in time for a major industry conference.

01 / The challenge

The product’s presentation did not match its ambition.

TakeOffTrak had built genuinely useful software that automates the tedious work of counting piping materials from engineering drawings. Its frontend told a different story: inconsistent spacing, conflicting styles, and a generic template made a serious product feel provisional. With the founder preparing to debut it at a construction technology conference, that credibility gap had to close fast.

  1. 01No cohesive design language or visual identity
  2. 02A template-driven interface that felt unfinished
  3. 03A fixed and immovable conference deadline
  4. 04An enterprise audience that expects credibility immediately

02 / The solution

A professional redesign built for conference day.

I rebuilt the frontend from scratch with Next.js and Tailwind CSS instead of layering more exceptions onto the existing implementation. That made it possible to solve the experience as a coherent system rather than a collection of patched pages.

Every section was reorganized around a clear hierarchy, purposeful whitespace, and a restrained palette that communicated precision. The construction audience needed the product to feel reliable and enterprise-ready, not flashy or experimental.

Behind the finished pages, I created reusable components, consistent spacing tokens, and a typography system that held together across breakpoints. The system gave the launch a polished, unified feel and made later changes easier and safer.

The deadline was non-negotiable. The site needed to withstand scrutiny from engineering and procurement decision-makers when the founder introduced it on stage. It shipped ahead of the conference and gave the team a product they could present with confidence.

What the work delivered

  • A complete frontend rebuild
  • A scalable visual system
  • Shipped before a fixed conference deadline

03 / The outcome

TakeOffTrak went into its conference debut with a focused, professional product experience that matched the sophistication of the underlying software—and a frontend foundation designed to grow with the company.
